Women-Led Watershed Management Project Restores Local Ecology and Livelihoods

January 12, 2026

Women Empowerment

Ojaswi Nepal successfully concluded the first phase of its “Green Livelihoods” initiative in the Syangja district, where a collective of 75 local women was mobilized to restore a degraded watershed area. The project included planting native trees, constructing check dams, and implementing soil conservation techniques. Beyond ecological restoration, the project has ensured a more reliable water supply for irrigation and reduced the time women spend fetching water, directly impacting their livelihoods and well-being.
